Glass Catfish

Kryptopterus minor

This fish from south east Asia is a peaceful schooling fish that should be kept in groups of not less than six fish. It is a good candidate for a community aquarium with the other occupants of the aquarium being no smaller than 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inches and being peaceful themselves. Anything smaller than the sizes stated will be chased by these glass catfish.

Although it does like an aquarium with an open area and a good current, it also likes to have planted areas that it can claim as territory.

It likes live and freeze dried food, but will also readily take flakes if floated in the current.

It is not fussy about its water conditions, and takes a temperature range of 21 to 26 C ( 70 - 79 F )
